Pet Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment. Arthritis/degenerative joint disease, chronic pain, spinal disc disease, wounds, surgical incisions, ear hematomas, muscle sprains/strains, fractures, and many other conditions are commonly treated with laser therapy.

It utilizes a process known as photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy. During this process photons or packets of light energy, are sent deep into tissue without damaging it. This energy is absorbed by the cell and increases fuel or energy within impaired or injured cells. This increased energy/ATP production leads to decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and accelerated healing. Treatment plans are tailored to each patient and condition. Treatment times will differ.

Laser therapy can be used in conjunction with other treatments and medications. During the treatment, your pet will feel a gentle and soothing warmth. They may feel better after their first treatment because the pain and inflammation are reduced. Due to the severity or complexity of the underlying condition, some conditions may necessitate a series of treatments before you see results.
